Does anyone know how to curse someone with boils? 'Cause I'd like to know how.

Coming out of the IMA this morning after my shower, I found my bike had been locked to someone else's. A page in the facility turned up squat, so I left a snide little note and hoofed it to work.

Still. Ass-munching monkey felcher.

Ginny is not an air-headed bit of fluff. Neither is she some wilting, mincing little miss. She's smart, and she's got a temper on her. 'Cmon, did you *see* her give Harry that smackdown?

If Voldemort tortured his minions at every single meeting? Not bloody likely to hang onto said minions. The odd bit of torture to proven traitors, at the Grand Reunion, yes. Every time? No. (Not that he's read the Evil Overlord's Handbook, but still.)

Thusly, Snape? Tortured horribly at Every Single Bloody Meeting? Nope. Sadistic authors, that's where that little bit o' fanon comes from.

Hermione? Bookish, yes. Completely socially inept? Hah.

Draco - tortured by his parents? Not bloody likely, the little daddy's boy. Spoiled rotten and the center of the known universe, yes. Evil? He wouldn't know what to do with red glowing eyes if they were staring him in the face.

Harry? That's one angry adolescent. If he were American, he'd be totally heading for angry goth-boy territory. Punk. Metal. Enough piercings to conduct lightning on a clear day. Hangs onto grudges like a croc locks its jaws on prey.

Which brings me to a heap of disbelief over Harry/Snape or Harry/Draco. Yes, they're pretty, but Harry doesn't exactly go by who's fighting for the Good and the Light - he respects personal loyalty far more, and it's gonna take a whole lot of convincing to get over his grudges with the two of them.

Urk. I have more, but I'm going to find out if my bike is still locked and head home, regardless.

As you may have guessed from my previous entry, I occasionally despair of ever seeing well-written fic in the Harry Potter fandom. I mean, there's always *something*, and no one author ever gets all of the characters right - she hates someone or another (Quite rightly in some instances) which means said hated character gets royally ass-fucked without lube in regards to canon characterization. And the authorial intrusions sometimes drive me bug-fuck nuts, even when they're not compounded with simply atrocious spelling and grammar gaffes.

We won't go into the WIP thing. That goes stright from despair into teeth-gnashing scatalogically, sexaully and biologically impossible cursing.

But Fear not, my Brethren!
For, lo, the Prophet is nigh, and the Book, yea, the Holy Book, has been written.
The Word has come unto us, and it is Good.
It numbereth amongst the Blessed, and the Author thereof is counted amongst the Saints.

*blink*
*scrubs brain of _Small Gods_ references*

I'm managed to spend my evening reading AJ Hall's Dissipation and Despair, a sequel of sorts to the opus Lust Over Pendle.

If ever an author has inspired me to format, print and hand-bind her work, it's her. Her characters, both canon and original, breathe, her plots twist and tangle and ensnare the senses, and she not only finishes before she posts... no - *publishes*, she ties it up in a pretty bow, and makes an e-book of it.

And, to be completely partisan, she writes absolutely splendiferous Neville and Hermione. So there.

And, now, my pretties, I'm off to bed.
