Hmm. Turns out I was wrong about the tuition - I was thinking as much in the early hours this morning and I just double-checked: it's $306/credit for graduate courses, so I would only have to pay per credit, instead of a huge lump per quarter. I'm still not happy about the lack of a tuition waiver, and it seems that financial aid (not that I *want* any more debt) is severely lacking for distance learning.

Bleah. And I've figured out why my cats get up at 4am - the guy upstairs from me is tromping around at that ungodly hour. He's quiet, as I've only just noticed him in the dead of night, and *I* can ignore him, but my cats are stupid, so what can you do?

"Oh, but you can still apply to the Day School for tuition exemption!"

Moron. And work full-time? Moron.

I think I can do this. Two quarters of full-time classes, to get the regs out of the way, then snag as many (up to six credits) evening classes as I can while they're still around, and then the rest of my degree as it fits into the schedule (one class a quarter won't be too bad for work.)

I have to go 80% hours, but if I weasel and plead, I think I might be able to get paid for them anyway. And if I beg and puppy-dog-eye nicely, I mightmightmight be able to get the department to pay for the extra credits that I have to take my first two quarters (4 and 3 credits over the exemption limit, respectively.)

That means I need to whip out spectacular, dazzling essays and the rest of the application *tonight*.

Eep!

Thou shalt not end thy "Describe what you want to accomplish or achieve in your professional career." paragraph in:
And then I shall retire and raise alpaca in Ireland.

Thou shalt not talk about thy "example of a situation in which you have exhibited leadership." as:
I shot things full of holes, and then I took the Leadership feat, and the first thing that happened, the barbarian nearly killed my cohort!

Thou shalt not answer "Why should we admit you to the MLIS program?" with:
Because I know where your department is, and I'm still pissed about the evening program!

or:
Because I have a nutmeg grater and I'm not afraid to use it!

or:
I'll give you a cookie!
