Had an appointment to clear-cut the leg forest at 1 today. My very first waxing ever, so I was all over with curiosity and a bit of wariness. Didn't hurt so much as sting. Many times in rapid succession. I'll go in again in a month and take care of all the hairs that broke off and those that will grow in and see if it really does sting less the second time around.

I wandered up to Northgate after to turn in a slew of PG Wodehouse and pickup the 3.5 ruleset. They were out of the box sets and the PHB, but I picked up the DMG and MM1. Poop.

I've got some bread that's going to get a really prolonged raise this evening, and a cat that sneaks onto my lap and I don't notice him until he's snuck up my chest and started nuzzling my ear.

Tick-tock, waiting for the bus to take me to the hockey game.

On the bus to the Seattle Center for the hockey game, I sat just behind the center-facing seats that fold down for wheelchairs. There was a trio of students there chatting away, and most of their conversation was audible to me. They were headed for the game as well, but got off on the wrong side of the Center. As soon as they stepped down, a pair of girls behind and to my right started commenting on the most vocal of the three, the one who'd been going on about electrical engineering and grad school. Then the pair behind me chimed in as well, and I couldn't help but turn and correct one of their assumptions as to his marriageability - his friends had gotten into Stanford and MIT, not him, but yes, he was rather loud, wasn't he. We all shared a good giggle.

The hockey game was fun. Lots of fights, and after both teams had scored a goal (and after Seattle's first goal, there was an odd bear-throwing experience, in which two bears were ignominously hung from the netting, poor things) bith Nemo and I defected to Canada and started rooting for Vancouver. And a good thing, too, for they won, 4-2. The only cute player we could see from Seattle was the goalie. Fortunately, they didn't show the Vancouver player's pictures on screen, so we could imagine that they were all cute. They were certainly all young - the WHL is mostly 18-22 or so, from what I've seen of the player stats. The dirty old woman in me perved the whole time.

We were in the box seats and everyone there was at least slash-aware, so Nemo and I had great fun making dirty comments about everything from the goalies' flexibility and willingness to go on their knees at the drop of the puck to calling for blood at the flinging down of a glove. Such fun.

I'm going to have to find some way of getting home from the Seattle Center that doesn't involve walking from there to downtown. The 74 stops running that far at about 9, so just a wee bit late for the hockey game. It's not a bad walk, and there were certainly enough people around I didn't feel unsafe or anything, but still.

I passed on woman on the sidewalk (I'm a fast walker) and while waiting for the light to change a few steps later, she kindly warned me about watching to make sure my purse wasn't stolen. I thanked her and wished her a good night.

But, home now, bread's rising for a morning baking, and I've just sucked down a liter and a half of water. I suppose I was thirsty, I only had a single pot of tea earlier today.
