Friday. Finally, finally Friday.

Dad called last night to fill me in - Mom had conveyed the basics in the middle of the day, which is that dad has the job, and they'll be staying the next six months in Albequerque at the home office to start things up right.

Which, just... fuck. I'm still tired (and sick, mostly) from last weekend. Urk.

But, good for them. Dad's trying to pry a firm salary out of them - they each want the other party to start the bidding, which amuses me. He talked about the corporate enviroment and databases and god, I was so tired, I was yawning my head off. Good to chat with Dad, though.

The headache of DOOM! kicked in about a half-hour after we finally hung up, and just... ow. Any single day this week, I would have cheerfully stayed home and slept until noon. I've barely been dragging my sorry ass into work as is, and it's only because we're supremely short-handed and I have shitpiles to do that I'm even conscious right now. Stupid work ethic.

On the other hand, once I do crawl out of my cocoon in the morning, I'm fairly chipper. Today is Friday, Shiv has finished DeMin (knob jokes, yay!), Rhi has given me the newest update of Paving Stones to beta, today is Friday, and I'm about to skip downstairs for a bit of breakfast. And oh, yes: Today is Frday!

Chris is entirely right.

Someone needs to buy me these tea mugs or I'll think no one loves me.

My birthday is in August!

Just home now. Sleeeeep! It calls to me, my precious!

So anyway - I wandered Dru-wards after escaping the black hole that has become my work. Bossman better hire someone soon before I take all my vacation at once and start contemplating spork-related atrocities. He fed me salad, which helped with the fading problem, and then I fetched him milk (I'm such a good sister) before absconding with Mom's car.

I wanted to head down to Fry's to check out the special they had on an over-hood microwave, but while my little geeky heart went pitter-pat at the sight of all those wonderful toys, alas, the micro was not what I wanted. So I reigned in my desire to buy those cute little mini-cds and trotted off to wander around Sears a bit and still buy nothing.

Leaving Fry's, though. Once all the shiny pretty gadgets were out of sight I could think again, and one of my first thoughts? Batman totally shops there. And Dick comes along and tosses the little neon lighted computer fans and water-cooled displays into the cart. And Tim wanders through with the last three weeks worth of flyers and a couple of internet printouts, comparing prices. And Babs kneecaps people who don't get out of her way when she wants to look at the components. Or if they try to patronize her. Her nearby Fry's has set up an in-house first-aid station just for her. Cass, though. Cass is completely unconcerned, and by then I reached the car and I just cracked myself up.

That's just the Batverse, man. I shudder to think what Arthur Weasley would attempt to make of it.

LAlalala - not thinking about it! Bedtime for little Mishas instead.
