This week started off soooo much better than last week. Not sick! Yay!
Saturday I did laundry, and re-found this little produce market on 65th and 15th that I kept seeing but never went into. Looks like a little road-side farmer's stand, but in the middle of Seattle. They had good apples, and I brought a bag of them with me to gaming.
( Gaming Wibbles )
Sunday I had to return the car to Dru, and I briefly contemplated a run to Costco, but gave into the Lazy until Dru prodded me out of the house to go swimming. I'd been running on empty coming home from gaming the night before, so I had to fill the tank before I went to get him, and the sticker shock set in.
I've bought gas since the prices started to rise, but that was in a Flexcar, where the company pays the gas bill, and I get a service credit for doing the deed. Now - yoicks! Yet another reason to justify my lack of car ownership. I mean, I contemplate it every once in a while, but I bus almost everywhere, and Flexcar when I don't, and the price of the car, the insurance and now the gas, just fends me off everytime. Maybe when I win the lottery.
So, swimming. I picked up my suit from the IMA, and wandered Dru-wards. He wanted to swim in the Ballard community pool, and I hadn't really thought about it, since I've never been to a community pool before, but I did balk at the entry fee. Instead I convinced Dru that the IMA pool would be less crowded, and the guest entry fee for him would be less than the pool fee for both of us. On the way over, I patted myself on the back for my successful skinflint ways.
So then we got to the IMA and the guest fee had gone up, and I hadn't saved a dime - moreover, it was a dollar more than the community pool would have been. I had to laugh at myself then.
So we swam, and Dru was very happy about how his ankle was feeling - a good stretch, with no impact to worry about. We skipped the UDistrict street fair because of said ankle, and headed for this little Thai place nearby. He'd wanted to get himself a blanket or a bedspread, and I'd suggested we hit BB&B and see Troy up north, but after lunch we were both feeling lazy, so we headed back to his place, took a power nap and then bussed downtown.
I succumbed to the silicone pot holders and the bath mats that were on sale. My mats have been looking ratty, and Laurier always rumples them into a pile when he skids to a stop at the end of the hall - I'm hoping the non-skidness will help with that. And once I put them down, my feet were so happy!
I had to switch busses in the UDistrict to get home, and I decided to take a walk up through the Street Fair at the transfer point. A few extra blocks of walking, but I nabbed a few cards from some of the vendors for when I have spending cash, and I got myself a new black leather bun holder. 'Cause I'm all about the hair bondage.
And then home, with a little chat with a fellow knitter on the bus, and a lazy evening (while I ignored the siren call of my unweeded p-patch.)
