I think the only two things stopping me from running out and buying one of the new Mac Minis (and not the absolute lack of funds to do so) are that I'd need a KVM switch and I'm not quite sure if it'd run WoW... Although, on closer inspection, it does meet the minimum requirements. So I'd need a KVM switch. Crappity!

Simply delightful hobbit-y story about the beginnings of the Shire

The topic of the run-thought today (and a successful one - I didn't even glance at the treadmill display until 13 minutes in) was the problem of saving Boromir. It lies not so much in him actually surviving the orcs after he's realized he's completely screwed up with Frodo and the Ring and all, or even the run after the hobbits to Fangorn. (Unless he's too injured to move, in which case who stays behind with him?) It's Denethor. If Boromir lives, Denethor (sneaky spying bastard that he is) would know and the whole sending Faramir off to his death and then immolating himself on Faramir's pyre - not so much. But having Denethor around at the End, with the actual, you know RETURN of the bloody KING, who happens to be a figure from Denethor's past that he's probably not keen on... *wince* Pitting Steward against King that way would not be a keen thing. So the real problem would not be so much saving Boromir (whoops, the orc missed) as saving him and yet still finding a way to eliminate Denethor.

Glorious, glorious AU: Frodo wasn't invited to take ship with the Ring-Bearers, but instead found healing with Radagast.
