The otter has landed
Jul. 17th, 2005 11:23 amOh man. Red-eyes are for the birds. But, am here. Am safe. Finally got some sleep. Gonna pick up Dad from the airport in a bit (braving the wilds of NY traffic!)
There's not much and at the same time too much for me to do here. Grandma has a full-time nurse, but I need to keep an eye on her at night, and I'm trying to pick up tips for when I have charge of her on the plane down to ABQ. Grandpa is, per his usual, deaf as a post and just as stubborn. He's also got little in the way of a short term memory, so I'm leaving the explanations for when we need him to actually do things. (Like get on the plane on Wednesday.)
My internet access is spotty (my uncle's laptop) but I've been good at keeping my phone charged. I was feeling talkative this morning when I got up in the cool of the morning, but keep the cheerful to myself as it was still 3ish am in Seattle. Instead I went for a wander and had tea and a croissant at a local cafe. I'm being fed here at the home, but as it's portions for seniors, I'm feeling the need to supplement my caloric intake. Plus, excercise.
