Aug. 18th, 2005 04:53 pmI haven't updated since the weekend, and you all need to know how spectacular my birthday was. Dru's company picnic was down at Wild Waves, and I had a blast. It was not without its complications - Deb came with, and as we were picking her up in Rainier Beach, Dru realized he'd forgotten the tickets, so we had to run back up to Ballard for them, and got to the park later than we'd planned. The barbeque provided for the company picnic part was fabulous. We didn't ride every ride, but most of the water rides and two of the roller coasters. I was starting to think by the end of the day that we should have rented the tubes there, but they were all gone by the time this conclusion was reached. And yet, just as we were ready to plunge into a last flurry of rides, one of Dru's coworkers handed over hers as she and her friends were leaving. My last rides were on those tubes, really short lines to the top (as the wait was all for the ride tubes) and Dru was game for that 'one more!' last ride.
Spectacular.
Must do again.
Got dropped off with Deb at Meg and John's, where Deb fed me before we headed off for downtown and a late Aristocrats showing. Hee! Perfect for lovers of dirty jokes. Lori gave me a ride home and got to chortle over how drunk/tired I was. Didn't even manage to smack Gordon appropriately a couple of times.
Sunday was the day of the sun-hangover. Only a wee bit of burn on the backs of my knees, thanks to appropriate slathering of sunscreen, but wow was I tired. Should have gardened, but I didn't want to face the sun again so soon, and I had a headache that only slowly faded.
