Round and round we go
Aug. 24th, 2005 10:22 pmNew hobby!
Loved spinning class tonight. I'd knocked over the wheel I'd borrowed for the week and cracked the tension peg, so I hadn't gotten as much spinning at home done as I'd have liked, but I got to try a half-dozen different wheels in class tonight and fell in love with a little Ashford Traveller double-treadle. Plus, we got to try some Corriedale roving and carding our own Romney cross wool. Mmm. Corriedale.
I injured myself carding - large paddles with wires? Fucking scary weapons, let me tell you.
Not sure how soon I'll buy myself a spinning wheel, but it's more of a when than an if. I'm actually tempted to try finding my drop spindle from the darkest recesses of my storage space, but... not that tempted.
And also? Shaving my cat never looked better *evil grin* He's fluffy! I could spin it! (Seriously, one of the sample skeins of yarn the instructor showed us was Collie.)
