Time to play IT-gal for the fam - upgrade Dru's laptop to 10.4, move the files from the ancient PC onto Mom's Mac, and fight for time on Dad's Mac with Dru. He wanted to play Dad's new Railroad Tycoon, while I'd brought WoW. Turns out I'm almost completely dependant on my addons, so I didn't do much. It did prompt Dru to get me to order WoW for him - it'll arrive after Xmas proper, but he succumbed! Woo!

We'd planned on heading up to the top of nearby Sandia Peak for lunch, but it turned out that the tram didn't even open until 5 on Tuesdays. So instead I got to see Pride and Prejudice and drag all my nearest and dearest relations with me! Glee!

Loved it, by the way. Much with the adoration and Austen-glee. The sets were a little more accurately-messy than the BBC version, and portrayed the gulf between Darcy and Elizabeth better. I agreed with most of the cuts-for-sake-of-time, but I was a little iffy about the relationship between Jane and Lizzy. They were close, but I wanted them closer, dammit. All told: Can I have the DVD already? Like, tomorrow?

Dinner: Ok, Albuquerque's at 5300 feet - high desert. Denver boasts about being mile-high? ABQ's higher. It's sitting next to a few mountains, like Sandia Peak, which hosts a wee little tram (only the longest in the world) that takes you up to the top of a 10k ft mountain. And there's a restaurant on top. I think I would have liked to see the view in daylight, but as the fifteen minutes of dangling over empty space includes a good look at the rocky crags 1000 ft below you, I was a little glad to have the rocks shrouded in shadow, and the lights of the city take paramount importance.
