Our flight out wasn't until 6ish, so we all puttered around in the morning. Laundry, packing, boggarting Grandma's neon green luggage (we'd bought it for the July move before she died) and when we were mostly ready, Mom took us down to wander around ABQ's Old Town. Fun place, lovely little French (of all things!) restaurant and lots of silver jewelry shops. I must admit, I succumbed, though only for gifting purposes.

We headed over to the home again to say goodbye to Grandpa. It's hard. He's 92, can't walk past the next house up for shortness of breath, and Dru's afraid his major health threat is simply the danger of falling. He's just so fragile and shrunken. It's hard to believe the cantankerous tyrant has been so humbled.

And then the fun of holiday travel began. First plane delayed in Alabama, finally gets to us a half-hour late. Fortunately, (though he fretted) we have a scheduled hour and a half layover in Denver. Subtract that half-hour, and then add... Oh, plane stuck in the gate, finally move us to the next gate down, move back to the first gate... I'd gotten to a point in my knitting where I needed scissors, and since you can't bring them on, I finished a Palm book over the next two hours. Finally, I was able to simply sleep all the way to Seattle. I dunno. I don't expect delays, but they don't surprise me anymore, and I always plan on having things to entertain myself instead of snarling at the staff and fellow passengers - it never does any good anyway.

Home and in bed (with my lonely kitties velcroed to my side) by 2am. But man, do I have to go to work Thursday?
