Sympathy and joy

Sympathy, damn you! I was traumatized, I need lots of sympathy over my grievous wounds!
Pfeh. You're all fired. *sulks*
Ok, got that over with. Had a few long chats with Mom and Dad - he'll be up in the Bay Area to talk to the various cousins. And I finally got more scoop on my uncle's cancer - much worse than what I was given to believe, but my uncle's being pretty rose-colored glasses about the whole thing and not conveying the bad news with the good.
Best part was Mom was talking about the Wednesday night service, and the subject of so many of the testimonies was joy - the time that popped out to me as the most serenely joyful was on vacation in Yosemite one winter, walking through the snow one evening - the snow was glowing white, drifting down, and so quiet. Walking into a grove of sequoias was what church should always be like - quiet and serene and holy.
My Dad's top moment of joy? Watching me be born. *beams*

Date: 2005-06-16 10:58 am (UTC)I'm mostly back to normal, if a little limpy, chalking one up to 'life experiences'. I have a bit more respect for his yowl-of-cranky-death now.
