Tired now.

Just got back into the office, and wow, not having my morning tea makes a difference.

Poked at my calf this morning, and over the yellowing bruise I could see a couple of red streaks from two of the fang punctures on my leg. Poop. Infected. (Later, the doc says that 50% of cat bites get infected. And sure 'nough, 2 out of 4 puncture marks...)

So I called the office, which wasn't opened, then the nurse, who got me an appointment at 10:30, and I waited around and played solitaire (WoW was down for normal Tuesday maintenance) and hopped on the bus with Hallowed Hunt (about which I'm still kicking myself - I'd noted down Bujold's appearance at the UBookstore on a Tuesday, when she was really signing on a Monday, and I missed it. This was a couple weeks ago, though.)

Anyway, the doc confirmed my assumption of infection, prescribed me antibiotics, and the pharmacist was rather overtly grateful for once to have a smiling, patient customer. Hey, I had my book, I wasn't really in much pain (twinge from the leg when I try to fold it under me and sit on it) I was happy.

Haven't quite finished Hallowed Hunt, but I should by the end of the day. I'm so close to the swirling resolution of her plot I can taste it, and it's delicious.

Youch! I was hoping it wouldn't get infected. Glad the doc saw you promptly, dear, and hope you heal well! {{{{hugs}}}}}

I was hoping so too, but... *shrug* Everything else is healing merrily along - the bruise beneath the bite is a lovely sickly yellow.

Thanks for the good wishes :)

Finally having caffeine helped the most :)

Naps are good for healing, though, right?

Ack! At least you got to it in time. Man, cat bite infections are scary. Thank goodness for antibiotics, and doctors that will see you on short notice...

I've been keeping an eye on it - it's not serious as yet, so I caught it on time.

My primary care doctor wasn't available, but there were others at the clinic, and for something like this, I was more than willing to see an RN if no MDs were available.

{{hugs}} Glad it didn't turn more serious, and hope it stays that way.

HH & Bujold...

I looked at it in the Borders and passed (so far.) Can you say on and give us, oh, say, a proper critique?
