My books came last night: Science Fiction Culture, Entrerprising Women, Beauty Myths and Single White Vampire Seeks Same. Oh, and CivIII.

Mmm... Civ3. I can tell already that I'll need to adjust my playing paradigms. One warrior to defend a city is not acceptable, not with the stacking of units that you can do. Culturally, I'm doing pretty well, though I think I may just start over with what I've learned.

And the shawl is coming along nicely - I got a good bit done during Buffy and Angel last night. I'll miss seeing the musical episode of Buffy tonight, but that's what roomies with fanatical taping habits are for. Yay roomies!

I'm going to try staying on campus until class time tonight - see how that works for me, maybe take dinner at the diner in Odegaard and head for one of the other libraries until it's time to scamper over to the IMA. I don't want to feel rushed, and I want to see if I can manage with just leaving the laptop here at work (not something I'll need to do after Friday) and cut down on the to-and-fro-ness of Aikido night.

Yes, I know I'm missing Buffy. It's just one of those sacrifices you make to spend an hour and a half getting tossed on your ass.

I'm a good three days behind on listmail. And with ten minutes left to wade through it, most of it will wait until tomorrow. Right. cable modem on Friday. Yep.

Thanksgiving's starting to haunt my thoughts - recipes, and which ones will I use, and who's coming, can I invite more, should I do a test-run on the turkey? It's still one of my favorite holidays, food and family and friends. In college, our chaplain would orgainize an orphan's Thanksgiving, but I never went - I always had my family. This is the first Thanksgiving I've spent away from someone I'm related to. I've done TG's away from Mom&Dad, but not out of the sphere of family.

Mom&Dad can't come this year, Dru's in Africa, and my closest relative geographically is my great-aunt in Portland. So family's out, but that doesn't rule out friends. Good thing, too - I love feeding people. So far there's six people at the table. I want more. I wonder how full we could make the house...
