Jun. 20th, 2005 08:34 amTired now.
Just gotback into the office, and wow, not having my morning tea makes a difference.
Poked at my calf this morning, and over the yellowing bruise I could see a couple of red streaks from two of the fang punctures on my leg. Poop. Infected. (Later, the doc says that 50% of cat bites get infected. And sure 'nough, 2 out of 4 puncture marks...)
So I called the office, which wasn't opened, then the nurse, who got me an appointment at 10:30, and I waited around and played solitaire (WoW was down for normal Tuesday maintenance) and hopped on the bus with Hallowed Hunt (about which I'm still kicking myself - I'd noted down Bujold's appearance at the UBookstore on a Tuesday, when she was really signing on a Monday, and I missed it. This was a couple weeks ago, though.)
Anyway, the doc confirmed my assumption of infection, prescribed me antibiotics, and the pharmacist was rather overtly grateful for once to have a smiling, patient customer. Hey, I had my book, I wasn't really in much pain (twinge from the leg when I try to fold it under me and sit on it) I was happy.
Haven't quite finished Hallowed Hunt, but I should by the end of the day. I'm so close to the swirling resolution of her plot I can taste it, and it's delicious.
